Businesses, civic organizations and public venues across the city of Minneapolis are inviting residents to explore, delight and discover during the first-ever Doors Open Minneapolis celebration, this Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Visitors can enjoy a free, behind-the-scenes look at more than 110 sites around the city – from historic buildings of the past to the latest sensations, visitors can tailor their Doors Open experience around a variety of different themes.

Comcast is proud to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s Doors Open Minneapolis event, which highlights the spirit of partnership and collaboration that is a hallmark of this great community.

“Our city is home to some of the most spectacular architecture anywhere in the nation – through Doors Open Minneapolis, we’ll highlight it,” said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. “Minneapolis is home to some of the most forward-looking innovative community leaders in the nation – Doors Open Minneapolis will offer opportunities to get to know them.”

In addition to its presenting sponsorship, Comcast will provide mobile device charging stations at a handful of Doors Open locations to help keep visitors powered up during the event. Partner businesses include Hewing Hotel, Surly Brewing and Woodchuck.

“Comcast is excited to be part of this fantastic celebration for a world-class city—a city that is a vibrant, dynamic place for people to work, live and play,” said J.D. Keller, regional senior vice president, Comcast Twin Cities. “Doors Open Minneapolis is all about connecting people to each other, to the city and all it has to offer, and it’s the same at Comcast. We connect people, businesses and the community to what matters most to them.”
