According to Common Sense Media, a majority of parents feel their teens are using mobile devices too much. Responding to those concerns, Comcast has introduced a new WiFi parental control feature that automatically pauses home network connectivity to all assigned devices once a child’s daily time limit is reached.
This time-use management tool provides parents with an easy way to set a specific amount of time children can be online each day. Once those time limits are met, children’s devices will automatically pause connections to the home WiFi network, giving parents peace of mind even when they’re not at home.
This enhancement is part of the Xfinity xFi platform, a digital dashboard designed for users to personalize, troubleshoot, monitor, and control their home WiFi network. Other features include a bedtime mode that automatically pauses home WiFi at set times every night, as well as a content filter that ensures access to age-appropriate material, websites, and apps.
These tools provide families the ability to create tech-free times and zones at home, helping establish healthy limits for the whole family.
