Comcast Receives Minnesota Keystone Honored Company Award

Comcast Twin Cities is honored to have been recognized as a Keystone Honored Company. The Minnesota Keystone Honored Company award recognizes three businesses that have done something extraordinary to make a difference within their community.

As a media and technology company, Comcast’s values have been at the heart of our company for more than 60 years and they are embodied every day by our teams as we work together and with our partners and communities. As a company uniquely positioned to educate, entertain, and empower, we are committed to bringing together diverse communities and inspiring our customers, audiences, and employees to make a positive social impact.

“Business plays a critical role, not only in the economic success of our region, but also in the overall well-being and quality of life for community members.” said Chamber President and CEO, Jonathan Weinhagen. “The leaders of the companies who founded the program knew this and made it a priority to invest in and give back to the communities that helped them get started.”

In Minnesota over the last three years, Comcast has invested $21.1 million in total cash and in-kind charitable contributions to nonprofits, including COVID-19 relief efforts valued at more than $226,500. In addition, 109 nonprofits were supported in Minnesota over the last three years, including The Sanneh Foundation and Phyllis Wheatley Community Center.

Moreover, Comcast has made many important commitments, both locally and nationally, in addressing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and supporting relief and rebuilding efforts from the civil unrest in the Twin Cities. These efforts include:

  • Immediately allocating a $500,000 cash and in-kind contribution to support the relief and rebuilding efforts in Minneapolis and St. Paul
  • Launching over 100 Lift Zones here in Minnesota
  • Providing 100 Minnesota small- businesses owned by people of color with $10,000 grants through the Comcast RISE Investment Fund Program
  • Working with thousands of partners to connect families to the internet through our Internet Essentials Program

As the world becomes more digital, it’s our responsibility to use media and technology to ensure that everyone has the resources and opportunities they need to participate and excel in today’s economy.
