YPN ERG Supports Local Students by Packing 500 Backpacks

Back to School is around the corner and Twin Cities YPN (Young Professionals Network) ERG stepped up to the plate to support local students. In partnership with United Way Action Day, YPN hosted their very own in-person Action Day where backpacks were filled with school supplies for elementary students served by our local community partner, Neighborhood House.

60 Comcast volunteers gathered at our regional office to learn how these backpacks will set students up for success for the new school year. Alan Branch, United Way’s Business Relationship Officer kicked off the event sharing how United Way is addressing the educational disparities in the community.

In addition to this YPN led event, Comcast employees joined the Greater Twin Cities United Way Action Day 2022 at U.S. Bank Stadium! This annual event gathered organizations throughout the Twin Cities to pack backpacks with school supplies for 50,000 local students.

These efforts are part of Team UP, our national volunteerism program offering Comcast teams across the country an opportunity to make a difference in their local communities 365-days-a-year. The name Team UP underscores that our work has the greatest reach when we combine forces. It also aligns with Project UP, our $1 billion initiative to build a future of unlimited possibilities.
